I notice that the scan console is doing the same thing a few times, with data processors, analysis and histograms.

See the branch possible_system_class for a potential way to move this code somewhere else.

It currently works using a bunch of lambdas, so needs a bit more design and renaming?

The main thing this does is set up and shutdown a sequence of DataProcessors.
