Regex support for regions in the sample block not working

Description

The documentation states that regex is supported for regions in the sample block. However, using e.g.

  - name: Zjets
    dsids: [700320,700321,700322,700326,700327,700328,700329,700330,700331]
    campaigns: ["mc20a", "mc20d", "mc20e"]
    simulation_type: fullsim
    regions: [ZeeCR, ZeyCR.*, ZeyVR]

results in

[ ERROR   ] BlockReaderSample.py:15... 14-12-2024 15:43:52 | Region ZeyCR.* specified for sample Zjets does not exist

even though there is e.g.

regions:
  - name: ZeyCR_eta_181_237_conversionType_5
