@markowen found that the JER was using the same seed for smearing jets as is done in JetCalibTools. This results in a correlated smearing and a large over-estimation of the uncertainty. Additionally, as most people use MC as pseudo-data it is more correct to use the max(MC,data) resolution. This was not anticipated when the tool was originally written but results in very small changes. Finally advanced users can set the seed themselves, but this currently set the seed the same for all jets which is not a usual use-case so this has also been modified.https://gitlab.cern.ch/atlas/athena/-/merge_requests/55438Draft: Update JetUncertainties plotting macros2023-03-06T21:21:15+01:00Christopher YoungDraft: Update JetUncertainties plotting macrosThe new jet flavour uncertainty recommendations will make use of the PerJet approach where the jet label is used to determine the size of the uncertainty to apply. Therefore for the summary plots we need to update the code so we can still make plots which use the dijet composition to assign labels to jets so we can directly compare between newer and older configurations. Additionally several configuration options are added to aid the making of public plots. These will also be used in r22 so it is also targeting these.Christopher YoungChristopher Younghttps://gitlab.cern.ch/atlas/athena/-/merge_requests/56666AnalysisTop: Update Electron SF map to the newest recommendation2022-09-13T09:50:03+02:00Tomas DadoAnalysisTop: Update Electron SF map to the newest recommendationUpdates AnalysisTop to the newest recommendations for R22.

See https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/AtlasProtected/MCPAnalysisGuidelinesMC16#Muon_isolation_efficiency_scale
If the user forgets do so, or if TopoEM jets are missing from his/her derivations, the tool currently returns a warning and falls back to 1D scale factors. One set of warnings per muon, however, is probably too much. This MR reduces the number of thrown warnings to something we hope is more manageable.

Several analyses (e.g. H->mm) are already using this systematic uncertainty, that was indeed needed from some time.
