Improving prefiring

Problem

For SMP-20-011, we took the average maps and neglected photons.

One should investigate:

• time dependence
• smoothing
• impact from photons

Furthermore, the effect is supposed to be stronger in 2017 then in 2016.

Scripts to derive a smooth correction based on the official maps may be found in the workarea.

Tasks

• Run all corrections with the software for each time block independently (16BCD, 16EF, 16GH, 17B, 17C, 17D, 17E, 17F)
• Check stability over time with smooth maps and with binned maps
• Compare to 2018, where the prefiring issue is not present
