Document all configuration options of various daemons
It is important to have all options of various daemons (in particular cta-taped
) properly documented.
Concept of /etc/cta/DAEMON.conf.example file was used in the past. It was supposed to contain all configurable options together with examples and explanations.
Another solution is to use related manual page of a daemon. The current man page of cta-taped
needs to be updated to include recently added options about encryption, external scripts and RAO.
Existing man pages
apropos cta
gives the following list of man pages. They should be checked to see if any need to be updated:
-
cta-admin (1cta) - administrative command interface for tape system operators -
cta-catalogue-admin-user-create (1cta) - Create a CTA admin user -
cta-catalogue-schema-create (1cta) - Creates the CTA catalogue schema -
cta-catalogue-schema-drop (1cta) - Drop the schema of the CTA catalogue database -
cta-catalogue-schema-verify (1cta) - Verifies the CTA catalogue schema -
cta-catalogue-set-production (1cta) - Set the IS_PRODUCTION flag on the CTA catalogue database. This will prevent any dropping of the schema by the cta-catalogue-schema-drop tool. -
cta-database-poll (1cta) - Polls the specified database every second -
cta-fst-gcd (1cta) - Tape aware garbage collector daemon to run on an EOS FST -
cta-readtp (1cta) - Read files from a tape -
