Release -1 : Functional end-to-end integration with physical drives / libraries
Deliverables that were partial met:
- All CTA daemons running with comprehensive system tests completed and successfully passing. Includes in particular an Oracle catalogue, a
tapeserverddaemon ported from CASTOR, and queueing system based on an object store. Focus on getting essential functionality working rather than performance. - CTA running behind the EOSCTA instance (via workflow engine) and IBMLIB1 (18 x 120MB/s drives, 200 1TB tapes).
Revised deliverables that were met:
- All CTA daemons running to perform the simple system test of archiving and retrieving a single file. Includes in particular an Oracle catalogue, a
tapeserverddaemon ported from CASTOR, and queuing system based on a Ceph object-store. Focus on getting essential functionality working rather than performance. - A Kubernetes namespace containing a CTA instance running behind a single EOS instance. CTA will be glued to EOS using an EOS workflow. The tape library and drive will be virtual (mhVTL). The Kubernetes namespace should be deployable on-demand on an OpenStack virtual machine.
