CI compatible with recent kubernetes versions

The current CI framework is not compatible with recent versions of kubernetes for various reasons:

  • it uses some flags that are now deprecated
  • it executes commands on containers using ambiguous syntax for recent kubernetes
  • it parses commands STDOUT using tools from the 70's when jq should do most of it
