All MRs blocked because of build-docs

MRs !975 (merged) !966 (merged) !974 (merged) !973 (merged) are blocked because of build-docs

Handler <function run_autoapi at 0x7f6ab70a7160> for event 'builder-inited' threw an exception (exception: 'Module' object has no attribute 'doc')

@erodrigu seems to have an idea what is going on, and maybe @mamartin needs to act. In any case nothing can be merged until this is fixed.
