To give newcomers an idea of what they're looking at and how to contribute.
It would be good to point people to some central documentation on the LHCb contribution model, but I'm not sure if this exists.
I'd also like to give a pre-commit hook that people could use to run the C++ and Python formatting/linting tools, but I don't think these are easily runnable on e.g. lxplus (the Python tool in particular; don't think it's installed in LCG).
