During 2024 data-taking we had the chance to test the LHCb trigger and do a massive retuning of lines to keep bandwidths and rates under control. The urge to do the developments in time has introduced a lot of copy-pasted code, duplication of trigger lines and other issues which contribute to wasting LHCb resources, as well as misbehaviors and bugs in some of the implementations. With 2025 data-taking in mind, we should refactor the RD code and fix all the issues that we have been encountering so far so we ensure a smooth start of the LHCb operations and we take the best of our detector. Most of these changes will be presented and coordinated in the RD 2025 hackathon, and the developments are expected to be finalized right before the start of data-taking in 2025.
