Hi Ben,
Here is the recipe to reproduce the crash of Panoramix with the latest SIMCOND tag:
You can find in the following directory two myPanoramix.py scripts, which are modified from the $myPanoramix that comes with v30r0 to work for the upgrade (not sure if what I've done is the easiest thing to do but it works).
/afs/cern.ch/user/t/tlatham/public/PanoramixIssueMarch2021
They both load the latest DDDB tag but they differ in the SIMCOND tag that they load, the "latest-tags" script loads upgrade/sim-20201218-vc-md100, while the "working-tags" script load upgrade/sim-20201217-vc-md100. The difference between those two tags is this MR:
https://gitlab.cern.ch/lhcb-conddb/SIMCOND/-/merge_requests/117
If I run:
lb-run Panoramix/v30r0 python myPanoramix-upgrade-latest-tags.py -f none
then in the Structure tree try to traverse down to select the VP, when I open up the BeforeMagnetRegion it crashes, with the following error in the terminal:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'GaudiException'
what(): GaudiException in loadObject() /dd/Structure/LHCb/BeforeMagnetRegion/Rich1
If I do the same with the myPanoramix-upgrade-working-tags.py script then it works OK.
Cheers,
Tom
