dE/dx

Currently only the average of dE/dx per track is saved in the Event TTree. A good idea would be to plot also the dE/dx distribution of all individual hits as well which are produced by the chargino MC particle.

To be checked:

  • is the LCRelation of recHit and simHit the digitizer make a relation always 1 to 1?
  • run on all MCPart and take the simHit or run on all Tracks look per recHit and get the associated simHit ?
  • distribution of dE/dx within one track (for each hit)
  • studying the kinematics on truth level as an indication for the dE/dx behavior
  • plot p/m for the 600mm and the 6.9mm sample before reweighting
  • understand why the detector acceptance selects particles with larger momentum (=boost) and therefore smaller dE/dx (as beta*gamma~=1)
  • (plot weight vs. momentum)
  • plot dE/dx vs truth beta*gamma
  • check dE/dx for background particles, e.g. pions from overlay: is it reasonable?
  • to see if there is any way to get a separation based on a dEdx criterion, compare dE/dx of charginos to dE/dx of overlay particles without preselection and with several types of preselections
  • related: is the pT ordering introducing a bias in the dE/dx for the background?
