Perhaps we need to remove these lines [https://gitlab.cern.ch/atlas/athena/-/blob/7fdfd5646d455997f5303b0903b0493d62f7d59e/Reconstruction/egamma/egammaValidation/test/test_electron.sh#L9]

i.e the 21.X and 22.X things. These will be there in the respective releases. What we prb need is 23/master
