Also, out of curiosity, why is a fix like this still necessary on 21.0?

Dear @strichte no, we do not need any sweep. The problem with 21.0 is that with recent changes to event numbering we see quite some duplicated event numbers, so we are checking the code. I do not think the removal of the duplicated line will help here, but it is the only problem we found so far ;)
