TruthJets: corrections to FindJets to avoid crash on the legacy Athena Configuration check

after introducing the legacy Athena Configuration check: MR !64666 (merged) the filters using TruthJets started crashing. These changes, thanks to suggestions from @khoo, allow to use CA in legacy code and avoid crashs.
