Remove unused example tool

I think this vertex counting tool is just left over from when @khoo wrote this as an example package. Just to make sure I tried removing it, and having done that, might as well make a MR.

I'll give people the option to say if they want to keep it. If we wanted an example tool I could also name it better to make sure people know it's an example.
