Prompt D02HH – 2017/8 MC

Analysis production of simulated primary and secondary

$D^{\ast+} \rightarrow (D^{0}\rightarrow h^+ h^-) \pi^{+}_{tag}$

decays, with

$h^+ h^- = K^- \pi^+,\; K^+ K^-,\; \pi^+ \pi^-,\; K^+ \pi^-$

, reconstructed as primary decays (for both standard and LTUNB triggers).

• data sample: 2017 and 2018 MC https://its.cern.ch/jira/browse/LHCBGAUSS-1908;
• DecayTreeFitter algorithm applied to the
  $D^{\ast+}$
  decay chain w/ PV constraint;
• combination of the RS prompt sample with a PersistReco muon to be used as proxy for secondary decays;
• momentum smearing of all particles.

Note that the MC production is not completed yet. However, the measurement of

$A_\Gamma$

has already been unblinded and is expected to start the paper review in a couple of weeks, and we would like to have a look at the MC to perform some quick checks. We plan to submit a new production and declare this obsolete in 1-2 months timescale, once the MC production is complete.
