Trivial question: was is not the idea to have this kind of commits to a 2017-patches branch just as for Phys? One can then merge to master as necessary ...

True. I just wanted to get it into the nightlies, and saw that lhcb-2017-patches is still using HEAD for DaVinci. If you want to create a 2017-patches branch and edit the nightly config then I'll change the destination to 2017-patches.

Checking my emails I realise you were not on that thread: we discussed the 2017-patches branch at some point and decided that for Analysis and DV it would be easier, i.e. less work, to wait and stay on master until we freeze S29 and/or Tesla for 2017. If things break then we take action. So my point remains.

OK, I was thinking the same for Stripping actually, so I've not yet branched it. Everything is in place for S29, but it's not yet frozen. Do you prefer to wait til it is frozen to merge? So long as this gets into the nightly build I don't mind either way.

I have no strong feeling. But it makes sense to wait a bit more if you reckon you will be adding updates/changes soon.

Just let me know when you feel I should merge ...

@erodrigu - Steffi just pointed out I forgot to increment the version of StrippingCache. Is that strictly necessary? I see you've already tagged v42r4.

It is not strictly necessary with Git, unlike with SVN the way we worked. But it's probably a good thing to keep versions in sync. I have tagged DaVinci to test the behaviour but will need to retag at least once, probably twice. The point is, there are still patches to be included,and not everything is ready (Calo-related, basically). So go ahead and retag if you prefer. That's really not much work in Git.
