@nskidmor, @rmatev the UnpackParticlesAndVertices returns a message when it is imported from PyConf that is not shown if the algorithm is imported from the standard Configurables. (stream and locations are the same in both cases and are related to a spruced file).
The warning is: "UnpackParticlesAndVertices INFO Unknown objec: Container type 0+1553 key 4"
and it is repeated multiple times in all the events. The job runs successfully and the events seem to be retrieved correctly however I am wondering if you have any hint of the reason for this message?

I seemed to remember some work on functional packers so digged a bit and found !3153 (closed). This is not at all a solution to your problem but it may well indicate the route for the future with all packing/unpacking being functional and better integrated with all modernisations. Let me cc @sesen in case she has any comment for this here or future changes that will be needed in GaudiConf.reading. Am asking just in case.

I converted most of the packers/unpackers to functional framework but could not make them work for unpacking old data because how the locations are set. It might be interesting to try out the functional UnpackParticlesAndVertices with this change.

That's very useful to know. Thanks @sesen. Yes, good idea. And anyway one should move to using these unpackers ... Let me cc @pkoppenb just in case.

BTW, I hope the issues with locations turns out to be easy as in principle some "flexible" configuration should do it, right?
