Remove default values of process such that it is configured once via a required user input

The MR removes the default values of process in functions such that it can be configured once via a required user input. It is follow-on from !3797 (merged)

To be tested with: Moore!1812 (merged), DaVinci!731 (merged) and Analysis!914 (merged)
