Synchronize master branch with 2024-patches

Includes:

• Trust file-content-metadata path on CVMFS when cloning for '2024-patches' (!4874 (merged))
• Added --override-option-class option to LbExec for 2024-patches (!4834 (merged))
• Generate configuration in a separate process to reduce memory usage (!4764 (merged))
• Use pkg_config for zstd and make it private (cherry-pick !4507 (merged)) (!4782 (merged))

To-do:

• validated with lhcb-sim11
