Muon PID for T-tracks

When attempting to run muon PID for T-tracks in Hlt2 the following error is produced:

MuonIDHlt2Alg#2                       ERROR State not defined for this track type.

Adding muon PID info to ttracks could provide useful selection criteria, especially in the context of LLP searches.

This is being corrected in LHCb!4244 (closed), Rec!3520 (closed), Allen!1313 (closed), !2522 (closed)

Hi @isanders we currently have some urgent issues with the Muon PID for long and downstream tracks that need to be fixed. So this will have to wait a bit. You are obviously welcome to work on it yourself in the meantime. I guess the main issue is that the MuonPID algorithm assumes long and downstream tracks and tries to access track states that are not available in t-tracks to do extrapolations or other calculations. You could start investigating from there.

Thanks for the reply @cmarinbe -- yes sorry I should have said I had a brief chat with Ricardo on mattermost about this a while back and understand the current issues are priority. I just wanted to make an issue to keep track of it. Thanks for the hints will take a look and see what needs changing.

Hi @cmarinbe @decianm, I found the issue -- the Ttrack template was missing the EndRich2 State location which is required here. Adding to the template appears to fix. Does this create any issues? I opened a MR LHCb!3582 (closed)

Is there an example of code so that I can check MuonID performance on T tracks? Many thanks
