Make it possible to configure which velo algorithm is used

Small change to allow changing which version of the Velo algorithm is used. Default to the current implementation so it introduce no change.

Hi @ahennequ, 6 unexpected timeouts were launched in the test for clang 8 platform. As far as I know, it's not a problem, so it seems ready to be merged, right?
