I have finally got down to the matter. Read the configuration part.

My task now is to combine both the alignment monitor and the alignment compensations computation in one procedure, similar to what is done by @jonrob for the RICH refractive index calibration.

OK, let's keep it in Panoptes for now.

@asolomin please can you try and avoid merge commits entering the git history when you pull in changes from master. You can do this by making sure you rebase, i.e. use

git pull --rebase --autostash origin master
