This blind GET is a workaround for an unknown bug that may not be present anymore. Removing it did not break anything for me. I was also consulting with Roman, according to him, there is nothing known related to that in JAPC. It might have been a side effect of a former JPype version, as JAPC is not known to have had that bug in 2015.
