SEU tests : How to determine the rate of ECR command required to avoid "readout stop" events
Previous SEU tests have shown that when the chip stops working, the script crashing is usually preceded by a succession of 10 times the following warning message :
WARNING Timeout while waiting for register response while trying to read registers
It has already been demonstrated that the ECR command enables normal operation to be restored. However, in the current script, this command is sent on a regular way and so does not allow to define the minimum ECR rate to be sent in order to avoid the "readout stop" events.
For future SEE tests, it would be intersting to send the ECR command only if a several succession (6 times for example) of the above WARNING message happens during the execution of the script This will help to determine more accurate cross-section value of the "readout stops" events and so to have a better estimate of the event rate at the HL-LHC environment.
