Patching 421108 to work in AthGeneration,main

Zach Marshall requested to merge 421108_update_fixes into master

Working from a PDF base fragment and updating a few options to be a bit tidier and compatible with running in AthGeneration,main. Probably more could be done, but this should help with AGENE-2136.
