Hi Frans,

The bit files from these branches are successfully tested with VLDB+ (https://indico.cern.ch/event/986346/). Changes should involve only the LpGBT chain, so you can safely merge this branch into phase2/master.

I've also added a first extremely simple test bench for CI.

I'd like to leave the branch open for further developments.
