tauRecTools: Remove unused codes or functions

Xiaozhong Huang requested to merge xiaozhon/athena:cleaning_helper into master

In HelperFunction, replace the macro, i.e. TRT_CHECK_BOOL, with ATH_CHECK, and remove unused functions. In addition, clean unused/commented codes.
