Seems reasonable. I'd say this is the proper, if not the only, way of doing this. We already use the same kind of solution (in the same file, L207) for Run-2 TrigBSExtraction which is the Run-2 equivalent of TriggerEDMDeserialiserAlg.

I was wondering if the more proper solution would be to use the R3 EDM file to properly register all of our EDM collections? (cc also @okuprash)

Then you have to read the EDM list from the release with which data were recorded. I'm happy to discuss next time we have a suitable meeting. Anyway, I'm totally fine with this MR.
