A follow-up of !50518 (merged), to fix a few points still left:

declareProperty instances replaced by Gaudi::Property ones, in order to change them from the main steering python, if needed
Clean-up of redundant code
Replaced the deprecated TVector3 with ROOT::Math::XYZVector
