Truth derivations - fixing metadata import

Zach Marshall requested to merge zmarshal/athena:master_TruthDerivationPatch into master

Somehow this was working in the past? The metadata variable was being used but never defined in RecExCommon in master. Fine, we can get it from autoconfiguration.

Looks like this was there some months ago but was removed.... will post history if I find it.
