GenEvent: use references
Use references in GenEvent for hotspot operations. We're still hit by slow attributes retrieval. Will open a ticket for that soon.
Note that I did that blindly (some may be redundant), but I already see 2x the speedup in HITS merge. Relates to ATLASSIM-6384.
