Introduce possible compilation of root macro to speed up testing and execution. Ensuring the calibration root macro is compiled in a standard build also ensures we (I) don't screw up while changing it. Default calibration shell script still uses the root interpreted version for now. The time from launch to seeing first output from the calibration macro is reduced from minutes to seconds when using the compiled version.

None of these changes influence standard workflows; calibration is run separately.
