Draft: Modified diff-root mode in FT0

BinBin Dong requested to merge bdong/athena:bdong-23.0-detailed into 23.0

Since we may run into the situation where the frozen derivation test is broke not so rarely, it may be good that we can have the diff-root mode as detailed so we can see the scale of the differences.

Not sure what @tadej thinks, so marking it as draft for now.
