Investigating egammaCaloUtils, since a lot of overlap will probably return to this afterwards.

  • New method wrapping detector description element retrieval
  • Moves some code shared by two if else blocks out a level to reduce code duplication
  • Changes variables names in_barrel and in_EMEC to inPreferedRegion
