@xju very nicely found the reason for the build failures that @fwinkl reported in ATLINFR-5752. He also opened a PR about it directly to NVIDIA. (https://github.com/triton-inference-server/client/pull/836)

But since who knows how quickly that will be accepted, let's patch NVIDIA's code on our end for now. So I just stole Xiangyang's code for this MR. 😛
