Removal of the feature/mc branch => move to publication repo
The feature/mc branch was a prototype branch to implement monte carlo simulations. It has also been used to generate visualisations for the report (& paper?).
The model code in that branch however is unmaintained, and has not been fully reviewed. It is therefore not really suitable for such critical use.
Instead of maintaining a separate branch, it is proposed that the publications repository (https://gitlab.cern.ch/cara/publications) is used to track all model analysis / visualisations. That repository should not contain any CARA model code (the only place that production-grade CARA model code should exist is in the master
branch in this repo). If a specific version of CARA is desired (from master), then a git-submodule pointing to the specific commit could be used.
The ultimate objective of this issue is to remove the feature/mc
branch from this repository once all important information/code has been moved.
