Input raw n-tuples from CRAB are sometimes corrupted. I haven't found any regular pattern so far, and it does not happen too often. However, only one corrupted files causes the whole mergeNtuple
job to lag. Removing the files one by one is tedious, as just opening with root
takes forever, and Ctrl+C is not sufficient to kill the job.
Furthermore, it is hard to keep track of the bad files. It is not too problematic for simulated data, but for real data, this means a loss of luminosity, which one may want to trace back.
A tool that identifies (or even remove?) such files in a given directory would be useful. Ideally, this should even be part of mergeNtuples
, but a separate tool is also fine.
