Add LABEL_FORMAT column to TAPE table
CTA will need to read tapes in at least 3 formats:
- CASTOR (native) format
- dCache format (OMS)
- Fermilab format (Enstore)
We should add a column to the TAPE
table to specify the tape format.
We propose that the new column should be called LABEL_FORMAT
to distinguish it from the low-level tape media format.
This column can be of type NUMBER(1,0)
field.
-
NULL
or a value of0
means default CTA label format (CASTOR/AUL). This is the only format which is valid for writing to tape. -
1
means OMS format -
2
means Enstore format
Tapes with LABEL_FORMAT > 0
will be read-only in CTA, so cannot be selected for archive mounts.
