SLC5 tests not starting because cannot talk modern https

Similar as it happens for #7 (closed), the test jobs are crashing before they can starts becuase the check introduced in !71 (merged) fails with:

curl: (35) Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to lhcb-nightlies-artifacts.web.cern.ch:443
