New production of ntuples for the analysis of $\eta$ and $\eta^\prime$ decays
Generating n-tuples for the analysis of \eta
and \eta^\prime
decays into \mu \mu
and \pi \pi \mu \mu
, coming from charm mesons.
The data includes:
- MC for all signal channels in the analysis, corresponding to all three years in Run 2:
\eta^\prime \to \mu \mu
,\eta \to \mu \mu
,\eta^\prime \to \pi \pi \mu \mu
, and\eta \to \pi \pi \mu \mu
. All coming fromD_s^+
orD^+
. The full decays areD_s^+ \to \eta \pi^+
andD^+ \to \eta \pi^+
, or\eta^\prime
. - Data for all signal channels, separated in two- and four-body channels since the stripping selections are different. In the case of two-body channels, we also include same-sign tuples where the resonance goes to mu+ mu+, and the pion takes a negative sign. This will be used to train the BDT as a proxy for combinatorial background.
- The goals of the analysis are: improve upon the measurements of
\eta^\prime \to \pi \pi \mu \mu
and\eta \to \mu \mu
, improve upon the limit of\eta \to \pi \pi \mu \mu
, and look for the first time for\eta^\prime \to \mu μ
The analysis is currently in WG review. This new production includes:
- New MC for
\eta^\prime \to \mu \mu
- Implementation for same-sign final states on
\eta^\prime \to \mu \mu
- New branches that weren't present before
