Study reason for increase in memory consumption

In the current master version of Allen, the CPU memory consumption has sky-rocketed. It doesn't look like a memory leak in the sequence, since the consumption remains stable after the initialization is done.

Solving this would be great, as we could enable the tests on the T4 again.
