@lohenry on this file: /daqarea51/lhcb/bu_250031_LHCb_ECEB01_BU_0.mep there are some failing asserts in a CPU debug build of Allen. The changes in this MR avoid them, but I don't think this is a solution.

Is this somehow related to !1027 (closed)?
