minor changes in timing + moved selectStore + setRoot into thread

this calls HiveWhiteBoard::selectStore and ::setRoot inside the task to be able to use gerhards eventstore (gaudi/Gaudi!882 (merged)) efficiently.

additionally, i sneaked in some minor changes to the timing code (a +-1 here and there)

is built upon !1868 (merged)
