Porting the SLB fork (deprecated) to lhcb/SLB

Merge request to brute-force the SLB fork/master branch into lhcb/SLB. This is an attempt to cease work on the fork and simply port the work done so far to SLB. Note that LHCb/SLB

Most linting issues have been fixed, except for the ones present in the hadronic tau lines.
