Modified RDBAccessSvc such that client code does not need to call connect() and disconnect() 

methods any longer.

As a result of this change, RDBAccessSvc handles database connection internally. Up until now
clients were supposed to call connect() and disconnect() methods, which was rather error-prone.

In this MR several packages were also cleaned up from obsolete cmt directories.
