BnoC HLT2 and spruce lines targeting the July selections deadline will be merged here, before the collective merge into 2024-patches .

From local estimation of the Bandwidth conducted in each merged branch (details below) expect overall reduction in the Bandwidth.

Rate tuning + Bugfixes

• !3482 (merged) - Tune BuToKSPip_DD(/LL) lines
  • Rate and bandwidth reduction by tightening selections
  • From reference bandwidth test and local bandwidth estimate expect ~ -8.7 MB/s
• !3594 (merged) -Bugfix for BdsToKSKS lines
  • Bug was introduced in !3471 (merged)
  • Switch KS builders to bbaryon_ks0_ll(/dd) and introduce some separation cuts to reduce net bandwidth after bugfix
  • Expect ~ -2.4 MB/s (from local bandwidth estimate and bandwidth test)
• !3662 (merged) - Tune BdsToKstzPhi line
  • Tune this line following results from early data bandwidth analysis, which indicated large number of max combinations and data - min-bias bandwidth difference
  • Efficiency on Signal MC evaluated and effect of tighter cuts was minimal
  • Minimal change to overall bandwidth evaluated on min-bias, but large improvement to data-min-bias difference and max combinations in the b2vv combiner
    • Expect ~ -0.06 MB/s (from local bandwidth estimate both in 2024-patches and this branch)

New lines

• !3638 (merged) - Addition of new lines. Notably, incl. BdsToPipPimPi0_NoPID_resolved(merged) lines, that replace old BdsToPipPimPi0_resolved(merged) lines. Also,
  • Lb0ToPpPimPi0_NoPID_merged(resolved)
  • BuToKSPpPmPip_LL(DD)
  • BuToPpPmKp_NoPID
    • Expected bandwidth change: ~ - 65.6 MB/s
      • New lines total bandwidth of 8.5 MB/s from local estimate.
      • Superseded lines BdsToPipPimPi0_resolved(merged) had problematic bandwidth of 74.1 MB/s. Take estimate from reference bandwidth test.

Update BnoC selections guidance

  • Remove out-dated examples in Moore/Hlt/Hlt2Conf/options/examples/bnoc
  • Update BnoC lines folder, README

  • Developments not included in !3638 (merged), should aim to target end of year re-spruce as set of sprucing lines
    • Use improved selection for pi0 lines in this MR
  • Could later be developed into HLT2 selection

  • Looks to tighten selection for BuToKShhh spurcing lines
    • Should address multiple candidate issue in these lines and quite high rate/bw from the UpgradePR tests
    • Suggested to target next selections deadline, potentially end of year re-spruce
